In collaboration with the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), our SBC Environmental Group would like to cordially invite you on Wednesday, 23rd of April 2025 at 10 AM for a panel discussion,  under the theme and title ‘Food Security in West Asia: Assessing Complexities and Innovations?’. 

The session will explore how climate change, geopolitical tensions and water scarcity intersect to affect food production and distribution in the region. It will also explore the critical role of technology in mitigating these challenges, from AI-driven agriculture to satellite imaging. Regional collaboration and innovative policy frameworks will be discussed as essential solutions for achieving long-term food security.

The event will feature a unique format, beginning with a debate between teams of students from EEG’s active academic member schools. These teams will argue in favour of West Asia attaining full food security, while the opposing team will debate that the region will continue to struggle with food security challenges. After the debate, an expert panel will continue the discussion, providing valuable insights and fostering dynamic exchanges of ideas.
